Flight period: May,June. Forewing: 6-7.5 mm.

Habitat: Scrub, hedgerows and woodland.

Larvae: Blotch mine on Blackthorn, later it is often gregarious in web. July to September.

The orange wing base and apex distinguishes this species from others.
