Caloptilia semifascia (Haworth, 1828)

Flight period: Late July until the following May

Forewing:  4.75 to 5.5mm.

Habitat: Wooded areas and hedgerows.

Larva: Mines the leaves of Field Maple and occasionally Sycamore. It later feeds externally in a rolled leaf lobe or a 'cone'. A cone is formed when on Sycamore.
