Caloptilia alchimiella  (Scopoli, 1763)

Flight period: May until July.

Forewing:  4.75 to 6mm.

Habitat: Wooded areas with deciduous oak.

Larva: The larva feeds from July until October at first in a leaf mine on oak, later in a curled down 'cone' formed from a section of leaf. It overwinters as a pupa.
