Elachista argentella  (Clerck, 1759)

Flight period: May to early August.

Forewing: 5 to 5.5mm.  

Habitat: Grasslands including saltmarsh.

Larvae: Mine the leaves of fine and coarse grasses in the autumn completing feeding in March and April, pupating by early May.      No similar native spp.
