The Volucellini - five species of Volucella.

They are all large colourful species with a yellow face. The genus mimics the Hymenoptera. The forms of Volucella bombylans resemble bumblebees and Volucella zonaria a Hornet. 

The larvae live in the nests of social wasps Vespula spp.
