Bombylius major  Linnaeus, 1758

Flight period: Flies from March until June.

Body: 12mm, but some are much smaller.

Habitat: Flower rich areas in woodlands, along hedgerows and in gardens.

Larvae: Parasitic on solitary bees (Andrena spp.)
